Happy Mothers Day!

What a wonderful mothers day!

We started the day going to brunch with the family then heading down to the Degoede Bulb farm. Unfortunately they are closed on Sundays so we just toured the fields that were still in bloom.

I thought it was funny - this little lone white tulip alongside the pink ones.

I love this photo of her!! I can't believe she will be EIGHTEEN this coming Friday!

finally a picture of Chuck smiling!! Ok, he's really laughing at me but it works for me!!

I love Shavanna's joy, she really wanted her picture taken by the yellow tulips. Such a great picture of her!

It was 83 degrees today so we did not stay long! It was the perfect day!

Pinterest a website like no other, can you say eye candy??

If you haven't heard the buzz about Pinterest, let me tell you, this is a website like no other. The functionality is like nothing I've ever seen before.

Have you ever been reading an article, tutorial, blog and copied and saved it to your computer for future reference? Saved a picture to your computer because it just inspires you? How about a quote that motivates you? How about really awesome food recipes? (I have friends that have files for breakfast lunch, dinner, salad, desert, kids treats) what a truly amazing way to stay organized! One of the other great features is that you can see what your friends are pinning - I mean we all have similar taste as our friends right? so when I see something that they have "pinned" I can re-pin it too! Love that!!

This web site is by invitation - if you don't have Pinterest leave me a comment with youremailaddressdotcom in the comments section and I'd be happy to send you an invite. I have heard you can go right to the site and request an invite but it takes days. You don't want to wait, trust me.

It works a little like your documents, you can create folders called "boards" in pinterest and when you see something on the internet, you can save the file image with the original link to one of your boards from anywhere on the internet. It is amazing!!

Here is my page of "boards"

This site is beyond inspiring! Like I said, if your not on Pinterest, leave me a comment with your emailaddresssdotcom and I'd be happy to send you an invite. Quit storing things on your computer, save your disk space and show others what you like!

Have a great one!! ~Cheri

What to do with this great find...

My girlfriends and I have been on a scavenger hunt for great old suitcases since last summer. We have been scouring all of the local Goodwill stores, thrift shops etc. I came across this old make up case a month or so back. I can't wait to re-purpose it. I just love the size of it. I have no idea what I'll use it for - ribbon maybe?

Cute right? So what would you use it for? I'm going to cover it in paper, or paint it, or...I don't know, I'd take suggestions on that too. It's just so adorable, I can't wait to do SOMETHING with it...

Just about finished the NW PaperChase, more later on that.

Have a great day! ~Cheri

jammed packed!

What a fantastic week! So much good stuff happening. I can't share all of the details but it's all good!

I am so excited this weekend to get back together with the girls and shop hop for the NW Paper Chase some more!! We're hoping to get to all of them!! That leaves 10 more stores to go! Crossing my fingers it happens!!

I can share this... One of my good friends is opening a new online store! Grand opening is this weekend. She is sooooo excited and I'm excited for her too! She is also going to have a store design team and I'm so super excited that she asked me to be a part of it. Such an honor! We'll be working on getting that part up and running soon! So please take a moment to check out her new store.

I am LOVING seeing all that the girls are creating using the SPORTS Edition II lines. Really this line is so versatile and goes beyond just using it for you typical sports, think playing, family game night, a day at the park. I love all the rich bold colors and just how FUN it is to play with it.

Here's a simple layout I created using the Sports Edition II papers.
I love love love the stars and circles all together.

Have a really great weekend! ~Cheri

Art Journal Album...

I've had some people e-mail me lately and ask if I have an art journal album. Why, YES, Yes I do!

Art journals are so popular and it's fun to be super creative and play with lots of paint and ink, there are so many mediums you can use to create your art journals.

I've been a little hesitant to share mine specifically as mine has evolved from goals and dreams to conversations with GOD, most of you know that my being a real estate agent that I don't attend church with my family on Sundays as I do Open Houses Every Sunday. It's funny though, how this was originally my hopes and dreams, goal setting journal, then it just evolved to my conversations with God.

So, although I am hesitant, I'm going to just share a couple of pictures. I'm not very far into it, I'm still pretty new to this - although my first page was created over a year ago, I look at it so much that some of the pages are actually coming out.

This is the front of mine, it's from an old set of encyclopedia's. The pages are super strong and have a glossy sheen to them. I like the title "The Book of Knowledge" so much that I haven't gotten around to altering it. I think I might just leave it, although I'm not a huge fan of the navy blue - I'd take suggestions on ways to alter it though, lol!

ok, I blurred out the words, my journaling is really private, but I wanted to show, that this is what one of my typical pages looks like - LOTS & LOTS of journaling. I don't have any paint on this page - just some mist here and there. Oh, and I have a thing for duct tape - see the stip of it at the top - Black and White Zebra print. The Black and white Damask ruffles at the bottom are made from some edges of paper napkins and I have it adhered to the page with some tissue tape. My background for this is from a shopping bag. I just loved the pink on pink w/squares and knew I could re-use it some time.

So there you go, there's a little glimpse of my art journal book. Hope you enjoyed the peek!

Have a great day!! ~Cheri

Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook convention in Seattle

My girlfriend Charlie and I had such a good time!! I love that she loves to scrapbook as much as I do and we just live right around the corner from each other and all this time we NEVER knew!! It was Charlie's first time to a scrapbook convention and I'm so glad I was able to go and experience it with her! I still get a little overwhelmed looking at all that eye candy, there were a few booths that I had to tell her we'd have to come back because it was overwhelming me and I thought I would self com-bust from excitement-eye candy-idea overload!!  She did so awesome, she even had a list and a few pictures for some special projects she wanted to shop for - so smart!

I am adding this to my Christmas list this year:
Magnetic Mat and Ruler

I know, not the best picture but someone was kind enough to take our photo with my phone.

Magnetic Mat and Ruler

(16x20 Inch Magnetic Mat with Scalloped edge and 18 Inch Magnetic Ruler) from We R Memory Keepers.

I refrained from this purchase with the holiday coming and all... Believe me...it was hard to walk away from it... especially since I decided to heat emboss on my 18x24 green mat and warped it all to heck a few weeks ago.

The only regret I have is that I forgot to go back to the Tattered Angels Booth and do their make and take, I'm so kicking my self! I was that close to playing with Glam, Glaze, Chalkboard paint, and their Screens up front and personal and I blew it, we were at their booth twice lol!!
But the good news is that There will be another chance, I think they'll be back for CK Oregon... I'm hoping... Then E can go too, seems how she was out hunting and didn't know that I had gone and I am in the dog house with her...Oops!

Last year I attended the Oregon one with E and Shavanna, it was E's first one! While we were there I fell head over heels with this booth: The Button Farm - she puts together album kits that are over the top amazing, I purchased two last year and combined them and I was so happy to see them yesterday, such amazing talent and inspiration!

Have a great one!

Have you seen this?

Last week Stephanie showed us this really, really, really cool tool on her blog, that she used on her project and I added it to my list of things to check out. So this morning I did!

It is by Epiphany Crafts.   Disclaimer, I'm not affiliated in any way, just want to share some goodness, because I think it's pretty darn neat! Their website is adorable too!

It is called the Button Studio Tool Flower 20 - The flower one is what I was drawn to.

However, If I had to choose I would choose the Shape Studio Tool Round 14. I love that I could use it over and over for flower centers, borders on and on.

Shape Studio Tool Round 14
http://epiphanycrafts.com/

I was just clicking around and came across a page that lets you play with it, So COOL!!! I made a cute little flower button. I love that it is interactive. You can "Try It Here".

I just love tools and scrap gadgets.

So, School starts tomorrow for us, I have to have E to school by 7:15 am, not so excited about this, I'll have to leave half way thru getting ready for my day with wet hair to get her there on time, ick. I get up early enough as it is to work out with Shavanna and I'm not about to ask her to get up any earlier, so I'll adjust.

This summer went by way too quickly.

Have a great day! ~C

Last summer was the first one I "tuned" into on the net and last winter I was hooked into watching on Facebook or company blogs (thank you google reader & Twitter)

She interviewed Making Memories yesterday and we got to see all their new lines! I ADORE Amy, her blog is beyond awesome, tons of great ideas and inspiration all of the time!

I have other fav's and I thought I'd share a few with you today, Warning it's a long post today! Hope you enjoy!!!

Graphic 45's booth last winter just blew me away! I couldn't wait to see what it would look like this time... I'm just starting to spy pictures, from the different companies. The Craft Critique had some good ones this morning, to see more go to their blog.

Ok, LOVE the hat! How awesome!! Serious inspiration happening here!

I am beyond smitten with this line from Crate Paper, it's called Restoration:

Chipboard 3
6 x 6 pad

Heading 2

Kit
I just may be the last person in the universe to not own a Sizzix machine, or any other machine you could run the Tim Holtz Alterations thru... But IF I did....
656938_Tag_Bookplates_PAC

Decstrips

Speaking of machines... This little gem is so neat looking!
TH_vagabond_stickered
And how about this? Configurations - On my coolness ranking I'd give it a big fat 10!
54
Ok, so Tim and Ranger (love those distress stickles!!! Although I should probably have all the new inks from the winter show release to accompany them, lol!) So many new items, lets just go on record and say, yes, I love it all!
Ok, One More then I'll quit...This is NOT to say I don't have more fav's, but how long can a blog post be before you all loose some serious interest???
Love the flower darlings, ruffled darlings, TICKETS and how cute are those Anthology Notes? Seriously adorable collection. So, YES, I'm aware the right side of the picture is cutting off, sorry! It's either a little cut off or so small you can't see it, However if you click on the Pink Paislee link above you'll be able to see the WHOLE Picture. :)

Have a great day! ~Cheri

PS, What are your favorites so far? Leave me a comment and let me know what you've seen out there that you have your eyes on. :)

National Scrapbooking Day

What a wonderful, fun filled, exhausting, blessed kind of day!

My mother in law, my substitute mom, the mom that my own mom knows I call everyday, my friend. Shavanna knew I had had a really rough week.

My dog had decided a week in a half ago to stop eating, stop barking, barely walked to and from her bed to my side when called. After running all the tests the vets decided it would be a good idea to switch her dog food, and with that came switching both of our dogs' food. Needless to say it has been a shock to their systems, our home, our lives, and if you've ever had the pleasure of switching your pets food - I know you feel my pain and lack of sleep. (This also explains my lack of blogging - 7 days, ouch!) I have been to the vets almost daily this last week. Oh, and my husband decided to take a very much needed mini vacation and went to the beach with some friends to have some R&R - which he really did need to do as he had worked something like three weeks with three days off, so who could blame him.

So today, National Scrapbook Day, Shavanna got me OUT of the house, we went with some friends and went scrapbook store hopping. I forgot my camera! It was so wonderful and fun and NEEDED. I so appreciated this day! There is nothing better than your feet hurting at the end of a day like today.

Here are my finds:

I know I didn't need the Tonic retractable knife but I wanted it! :) :) :) The only thing I didn't find was some Tattered Angels mist - everyone was sold out of the colors I wanted?!?

When I got home my Danny was back.

Our dogs have not been sick since this early morning! Cabela our lab played fetch with me for a short while. Dutchess-my sweet dog, found her bark for joy to see me come home. It seems we have made the turn.

I hope your day was as blessed as mine. ~Cheri
