March Tumbler of the month using the TC Ebosser

I've had some questions about the tumblers I have used over time. I DO have several of the different Starbucks Tumblers.

This is the COLLAGE IT tumbler, the website says it is currently not available but I have seen it at most Starbucks stores.

Here's the question I get with this one, how do I decorate it?  This particular tumbler I think is for simplicity. Not the tumbler I typically use when adding embellishments. But if you do have it, then how would you create with it? Because you can't add a lot of "layers" it's a great way to showcase your favorite photos, a drawing your child has created for you, a favorite piece of paper. Something along those lines.

So today I am sharing one of the fun ways I have decorated mine using the TC Ebosser!

To start, slip your template out of the tumbler and trace your template onto your sheet of paper. I have a place I keep all of my different templates so I know where to find them all each time I redecorate or change out my designs. Once you have it traced, cut it out.

I enjoy this embossing folder with all of the cabbage roses on it. So I thought it would be fun to play around with it this month. So run it through your TC Ebosser.

Once I had it embossed I very lightly added some pink ink to the page. I used the Tim Holtz distress Spun Sugar ink over the raised images. This paper is from the Teresa Collins Save the Date collection and it has an amazing texture to it!!

Once I finished inking it I used the pearl powder in Blush over the top by using the medium pen then sprinkling the powder over the top then dusting it off. Once done, go ahead and slip it into your tumbler.

I want to mention, I truly enjoy making these and switching them up every month, I am not paid by Starbucks, it's just something I LOVE playing with!

I hope this inspires you and helps those of you that have asked me to share something with this tumbler.

If you are looking for the stainless steel one that you can create with more layers and shown in many of my other posts here is the link: http://www.starbucksstore.com/stainless-steel-create-your-own-tumbler-16-fl-oz/011025477,default,pd.html?navid=PDP

Cherinspirations - Teresa Collins Sequins - Tip and tricks - 1a

Have you ever been knee deep in a project and darn if you don't spend more time trying to get the sequin off your finger than on the project itself?? Some days that's just how I feel. I LOVE using sequins but man of life that static cling is annoying, especially when your glue dries before you can put it on your project, right?!? So, I have a SOLUTION for you! Yes, it's a little trick I figured out...

Cherinspirations - Teresa Collins Sequins - Tip and tricks - 2

We all have those plastic containers that we get our washi tape in from Teresa Collins - right!? Anyways, take your washi out and store it somewhere else. Now, just spray a LITTLE spray of some static guard, like count to ONE, just a little is all you need, you don't want to drown your sequins or discolor them in any way or have a residue on them. TRUST me, I did all of the experimenting for you. ;) **Be quick and do not over saturate metal sequins - if you use too much they will have a residue that is not pretty - just saying... Yes, of course it happened to me and I lost the whole sparkly bag during my experiment, however, if you use just a tiny spray - again just count to one and you should be fine.

Now quickly put your sequins in your container and give it a shake, like count to ten.

Then pour them out onto a piece of scratch paper and let the static guard finish evaporating. see, no residue!! And VOILA no more static cling!! Now you can put them in what ever container you use.

To adhere my sequins I like to use the liquid adhesive that comes in her Xyron adhesive kit.

I just add a little dab of the liquid glue and then layer my sequins on and done!!

Teresa Collins eBosser 'In Time for the Holidays' Blog Hop!

Hey everyone, welcome to my blog! I hope you are enjoying all of the fun projects along the way!! I am sharing with you my advent banner using the TcEbosser and pieces from the Teresa Collins collection Santa's List! You can see some of my supplies above: The Teresa Collins Ebosser and Stars embossing folder (sold separetly), star shaped dies & scalloped die cuts (spellbinders), side b of the music notes paper, Packaging from collection I had saved, sequins, washi tape (shown below), Doilies, white paint, ribbon and music sheets.
The first thing you will want to do is run all of your tags through the machine using the Star embossing folder. I then cut the bottoms into banners and painted around all of the edges in white. Which is totally optional but I love the look of a bead of white paint around the edges of paper.
Then I cut out all of my stars using a star die and I cut through EIGHT SHEETS at once!! I love how strong this machine is!!
I never throw away pretty packaging. I had a lot left over from kits I had made and I just knew I would find a use for them! I cut out the bottom left where it says Christmas using a scallop die with the machine. Then for the upper left where the Santa logo is I just used a small circle punch.
I used another die and cut 25 of them using the machine and white card stock, then added the numbers from the side B of the music notes paper from the collection.
To start your assembly of your tags alternate between washi tapes along the left edges of your tags.
Add your scalloped circles (yes, I painted around them too!) then add a strip of your washi tape.
Add your star music notes (and yes, I painted around them too!!) let your stars hang off of the right edge. Then add your layered numbers to the left of your stars.
Next, cut your doilies in half and add them to the back of the left side. Then add your santa's using pop dots overlapping your numbers and stars. To finish them off add a couple of sequins and add a little white ribbon bow to the top.

I added them to a thin white ribbon then hung them above our chimney.

I hope you enjoyed the project!! I know my family is liking the new addition to the mantle this year!
