Blog hop Summer Fun with Xyron and Craftwell!

Hey everyone! If you follow me you know I do a tumbler of the month project with my Starbucks tumblers. I thought this blog hop was perfect to go with my new star flag themed tumbler this month.

To start my project I embossed one sheet of red, white and blue card stock using the WOOD GRAIN embossing folders. Then I used some white scrap paper and cut mini stars (photo of mini stars below) Once I embossed my blue paper, I cut the bases of my stars using three different dies - all at the same time! This is one of the perks of having a larger machine, you can cut many things all at the same time!!

Here you can see some of the supplies I used. I trimmed all of my red and white stripes 1/4" then adhered them to my star using my Xryon 1/4" tape runner. Then I adhered all of my mini white stars using my Teresa Collins sticker maker. It's so great for those little pieces!!

I embossed a piece of dark metal gray paper using the startburst folder, traced my template onto the paper and trimmed it up, then adhered all of my finished stars on to my starburst paper.

I love how the wood grain embossed paper looks like it is moving, it's just perfect!!

April Starbucks tumbler of the month using the Teresa Collins Ebosser

Oh my gosh, I had so much fun today making this one!! I am seriously addicted to embossing on the mirrored papers! For this months project I used the new folder "Beautiful Words".

To recreate this project, emboss your mirrored paper. Trim it to 4" wide. Adhere onto side B of Butterflies paper from the Teresa Collins Daily Stories collection. Trace your template onto your paper and cut out.

I then cut a few scallops from the Ombre Circles paper and adhered them to the left side of my embossed sheet.

Then I sewed a row of the white sequins on to my scallop strip. **Tip - add a small strip of adhesive first to keep your sequins in place while you sew them on. Then I adhered small grey sequins over the top of the white ones.

Add a strip of washi tape to the right of the embossed sheet.

Stamp the small flower over the grey and white stripes and color in the centers using blue and pink pens.

Add "everyday life" circle from the ephemera package overlapping top right of embossed sheet and washi tape.

Insert your completed sheet into your tumbler and your all set!! I love how this turned out, huge wow factor with the embossed mirrored paper!

I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!! This is the Starbucks tumbler I used this month.

March Tumbler of the month using the TC Ebosser

I've had some questions about the tumblers I have used over time. I DO have several of the different Starbucks Tumblers.

This is the COLLAGE IT tumbler, the website says it is currently not available but I have seen it at most Starbucks stores.

Here's the question I get with this one, how do I decorate it?  This particular tumbler I think is for simplicity. Not the tumbler I typically use when adding embellishments. But if you do have it, then how would you create with it? Because you can't add a lot of "layers" it's a great way to showcase your favorite photos, a drawing your child has created for you, a favorite piece of paper. Something along those lines.

So today I am sharing one of the fun ways I have decorated mine using the TC Ebosser!

To start, slip your template out of the tumbler and trace your template onto your sheet of paper. I have a place I keep all of my different templates so I know where to find them all each time I redecorate or change out my designs. Once you have it traced, cut it out.

I enjoy this embossing folder with all of the cabbage roses on it. So I thought it would be fun to play around with it this month. So run it through your TC Ebosser.

Once I had it embossed I very lightly added some pink ink to the page. I used the Tim Holtz distress Spun Sugar ink over the raised images. This paper is from the Teresa Collins Save the Date collection and it has an amazing texture to it!!

Once I finished inking it I used the pearl powder in Blush over the top by using the medium pen then sprinkling the powder over the top then dusting it off. Once done, go ahead and slip it into your tumbler.

I want to mention, I truly enjoy making these and switching them up every month, I am not paid by Starbucks, it's just something I LOVE playing with!

I hope this inspires you and helps those of you that have asked me to share something with this tumbler.

If you are looking for the stainless steel one that you can create with more layers and shown in many of my other posts here is the link: http://www.starbucksstore.com/stainless-steel-create-your-own-tumbler-16-fl-oz/011025477,default,pd.html?navid=PDP

November Tumbler of the month using the Memorabilia collection by Teresa Collins Designs

It's funny how I go through phases with collections, right now this is my favorite. I just made an album last weekend using this collection that was on the Teresa Collins DT Blog last Monday. I just love how much it inspires me!!

So to start I started pulling bits and pieces that I had left over and my Tumbler Template.

Not everything I pulled out made it into the project this month but It's just enough!! I really wanted this one to focused on the quote "She thought she could so she did"

Here is how it turned out, I'm just LOVING IT!!

I hope you are inspired to create one of your own! I am enjoying changing mine out each month, I have about 2 years worth now for a couple of my tumblers and I love that they are original and people ask where did you get your cup? So Fun!!!

August tumbler of the month using the new Teresa Collins Family Stories collection.

Well here it is the middle of the month and I am just getting to write this post for my August cup of the month project! About time right?!?  I am seriously enjoying this month's cup project! I love how bright and SPARKLY it is!!

Here are the supplies I pulled to make this month's cup. Some of the items did not get used as planned. So I'll just mention what I did use: Paper - "NOTED" & "FLOWER" {side B}, Washi tape - pink stripes and anchors, chipboard buttons, Sequins

I cut the bottom part of the flowers paper side b to include the wide open border that is on the top of the template. Then I added the pink stripes washi tape to the open border and added the man/woman chipboard button to the center. Then I added just a little bit of the anchors tape to the upper left above the quote on the noted paper. So this is where I didn't think I really needed to much more...well now, I couldn't not have some sparkle....
So I took a 1/8" score tape and layed it on the paper where I wanted to add my sequins - this helped hold them in place while I stitched them to the paper.
So here it is all finished. I am just loving this one!! It's perfectly enough. I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!! Drinking coffee should be pretty! :) :)

Happy 4th of July! Coffee Tumbler project for the month using Stationery Noted by Teresa Collins Designs

Did you say coffee?? Let's decorate the coffee tumbler from Starbucks!

Ok, so the one I got for Mothers day didn't work out so well but I found this new one at Starbucks and it came with a sharpie and it's stainless. It has a little more "wiggle" room to add more layers. YAY!!

So I just gathered up some of my favorite pieces from the Teresa Collins Memories collection. I wanted this month's "theme" to highlight the dictionary/quote from the papers that says fortunate.

I traced my template onto my base paper then cut it out. Then I thought the pink glitter border strip would be a great touch! Because the top of the template is rounded you are going to adhere it to the top and just trim the excess off.

Here I layered my quote onto one of the journal cards. I cut around a few of flower petals with my exacto knife to slide in my dictionary card under it.

Once your happy with how it looks start adhering everything down onto your base.

I added a few enamel dots, I was a little nervous if it would work because of the depth but with this tumbler it worked out ok!

I am excited and it's so pretty to look at! I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!Till next month!! I'm thinking, a little Stationery Noted with the Red, White and blue for Fourth of July!
