Hey everyone! As I have been playing with the new TCebosser I litterally have been looking high and low for anything that I can emboss on. When I was at the craft store I saw these sheets of duct tape and I thought my goodness, How cool would it look embossed?? So I gave it a try!
Turns out, it looks very pretty!
So I found a square shadow box and painted it black and decided to flip it around and make a fun clock! So here you can see where I am drilling a hole for the clock mechanism.
Then I added the sheet of ductape and trimmed all of the excess away.
I found the numbers were just perfect for this project! You can still see all of the beautiful embossed designs and since it was pre-made it made it a breeze to complete this project.
Here's what it looks like all completed! Beautiful, quick and easy! I hope you are inspired to create one of your own!
Today is the final showing of the TCeBosser launch on HSN. 6pm eastern times, unless otherwise posted.
Ok, I admit it.... I have an addiction to making clocks!! I'm going to have to start giving them away soon!! For this one I used the Assemblage Clock from Tim Holtz idea-ology. It is just a raw clock casing - You need to add your own clock mechanism. I added mine by drilling a hole in the back of the casing and the back comes off and on like a lid on a pan. Which is how I was able to "FILL" it up. :)
I loved the "Our Story" banner die cut and I was determined to use it in a fun project where I would get to see it often. I cut a strip and layered it on the (flowers side b) black tiles paper strip. Then adhered them to the outside of the clock.
I used the numbers from the back side of the bingo paper (yellow dots with black numbers paper - using the 6x6 paper pad). I luckily had a little circle punch that was the perfect size for the mini numbers and adhered them using pop dots. Depending on the length of your clock mechanism is how much depth you can add to your clock. My mechanism was about halfway between the glass and the base.
I layered a couple of die cuts to hide the clock opening and part of the stem. I think it also gives the clock a little more eye candy! Then I just added some flowers from my stash, a few buttons from the collection and some enamel dots. I love this clock so super fun!!
I have to imagine that I'm not the only one who has been glued to the TV for days. I have just been overwhelmed with emotions it has been devastation after devastation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to ALL of those that have been effected by the bombings in Boston and the horrific explosion in Texas.
My heart is soooo heavy, I feel so helpless. I think one of the most positive things I've heard is that runners literally ran to the nearest hospital to donate blood - That really wowed me, in the heat of the moment I don't know if that's what I would have thought to do first but that is what many did, it warmed my heart. There is so much goodness that people are doing for one another and I wish the news would share more of that. That mankind is kind and generous and loving.
Honestly I have not felt as motivated to create as much as I would have liked this week. I was looking over the new paper line - Summer Stories and it hit me like a ton of bricks, BAM! I created this project just for me... Have you heard - art heals? My heart does feel a little lighter. This piece has so much MEANING behind it. I hope you enjoy!
As I was creating this I wasn't thinking clearly, I was just creating... I actually glued the paper on the wrong way and in my attempt to remove it to start over it ended up looking pretty cool so I just rolled with it. See how it happened and how you too can re-create this super cool effect in the video below!
The flower side of the paper is what was originally wrapped around the entire frame and as I started removing the paper in layers the black pattern started showing through. You can see the grain of the wood!
The "remember" is from the 6x6 paper pad. It was the perfect size for the box!
