A little of this and a little of that - using your stash - Journal book

This is a fun little book! I am actually using it as my mileage log! My mother in law laughs at me because who has such a pretty mileage log?!?  I do, and I love it! But this could be used as a little journal book too!

This is actually a new spiral bound journal book by Prima, the link is below. It is the only "NEW" in this project, everything else is from my stash.

If you click on the link below to see the original spiral book is on the left side - Yes, I cut it off, flipped the cover over and covered up the right side where I cut it with the black metal scallop piece from 7 gypsies. Then I cut the pages to fit cutting off the side with the holes from the original spiral holes.

All of the inside pages are from the original spiral notebook, then I added note cards and postcards - this makes for a quick mini book because everything is decorated for you and it's a great way to use up your stash in a way that you will really USE!

This is one of the Websters pages post cards, they are a little shorter than the original size but that's ok because the longer pieces that show on the bottom all work together nicely. I love the mix and match of all the pages & note cards.

This is one of the original pages from the spiral notebook.

This is one of the note cards from Prima.

Supplies used that I can remember - because you know - some of it is a little (or really really) old and a little new and if I can find a link it will be provided:
Cover and inside base pages:  Prima - Divine collection - spiral bound art journal
Websters Pages postcards - used sideways as journaling pages
Prima note card collection box - used sideways as journaling pages
Cover dodah's:
Prima Pebbles
Prima say it in pearls - bling - cut apart and pieced on cover
Prima pearl butterfly
Paper cut apart and pieced
7 gypsies - scallop black metal piece (I can't remember the name of it but it is by 7gypsies)

So there you go, it's really a quick and easy way to use up beautiful note cards and post cards. I figured after all this time it was time to use them up! I hope this inspires you to check your stash to make something beautiful and useful!

A Little of This and a Little of That

Yes, I am using my stash up! I'm going to try to do one project a month using it up! I have been saving this Daisyd's paper for years, and if you've been scrapbooking long you probably even have some of it stashed as well. I decided - what the heck am I doing? Saving it for a rainy day?? I'm going to stop hoarding it and start enjoying it. So, here's what I came up with - something old matched up with something new and it's a beautiful little arrangement if I do say so myself.
This book is a large ledger book that I picked up at Staples and I looked online to share the link with you but they don't have it online?!? Which really blows because I LOVE this ledger book - this is my second one!

I love the new Graphic 45 paired with it, is beyond perfect! Then I added some great rub on's and stickers. A little washi tape. and trimmings. I love the closure!

So, this is the inside flap and the pre-stamped numbered pages inside. I cut a few inches off of the width of the back cover then added....can you guess... a sheet of 6 x 12" grunge board so it would wrap around the front and be a little flexible - paper would be to thin and chipboard would not wrap around the way grunge board does.

A little shot of the inside cover.

Here is the spine. I really do use my book - I sketch my classes in it - which paper to cut, and all of the instructions for all of my class kits are in this book. As much as I love all of the trims that cover the spine I also need to be able to write in it so I created it using a book ring. I love the 7gypsies hole thingy - again - something I love and have in my stash! Same with the Teresa Collins Flower - now I can see it and enjoy it!

I hope this inspires you to create something beautiful from your stash - quit saving it for a rainy day and enjoy the pieces you love so much.

Stitched Journal book using Teresa Collins Far and Away

Have you seen the new stitched journals in the new collections? This is the larger one from the Far and Away collection. If you are a long time follower you know how I love a good journal book. This is another project that I created for the Teresa Collins Designs Booth at CHA.

This is the inside front cover and I added some paper and created a pocket page. I thought this would be great when on a little trip to add fun memorabilia.

The pages are originally all blank and I changed mine up by adding some ink and sanding the edges, I wanted mine to FEEL vintage as well as look it! Ha, imagine that right??

Here I used the decorative tape of the worlds and cut the end to look like a banner.

I can't wait to use this book, I need to go on a vacation soon!!

Here is another fun pocket page!

I have to tell you, I was super excited when I saw the video on Monday from My Craft Channel. You can see this book sitting on the table... WOW!! Did you know Teresa has a segment using the new products every Monday? If you didn't I added the link under the photo. My Craft Channel is on Facebook so you follow them if you haven't yet.
As seen on My Craft Channel

I love these books, they are the perfect size to put in your purse or bag while you are on a trip and you can document along the way then add your photos later or at least that's how I plan to use mine!

I am so excited, This Friday starts the NORTWEST PAPER CHASE!! I'll be sharing fun photos along the way. Our Goal - 11 stores on Friday - Do you think we can do it?? I'm hopeful... then Saturday - it's off to Oregon to see my family and my new niece!! I can't wait!! It's going to be a busy weekend!

I think I'm going to need Sunday to just recover...

Journal book using Teresa Collins Tell Your Story

As you all know, I'm a huge fan of mini books, but JOURNALS make me so HAPPY!! I love a good book to write in, to reflect upon... When I saw this paper line, it WOWED me, it's so pretty and fun! I LOVE the colors, I knew I would make something really special just for me with it!

There are so many details here on the cover... The hinges cut from a die using the orange side of the damask paper. The binding on this may require a little video in the future! The large quote brad used as a closure, the ribbon wraps around it and holds everything inside. The medallion with the pearl center, glitter scallop border strip... It all makes me so very happy.

The pages don't really have a specific measurement as they are a little different on their widths. I covered old file folders with the papers. There are tons of tags in all different sizes created from the TWO different journaling cards in the collection, one small and one large sheet. I painted all of the page edges and embellishments with white paint! There is a ton of texture, from glitter accents, paint, ribbon, the textured thick paper...

I love the little butterfly tabs for the pages, I cut them from the border strip then layered the layered butterfly stickers over the tops... layers layers layers! I love that thin orange border strip!
In this picture (above) you are looking at two pages! The orange dots & photo are from the large journaling cards and again the butterfly tab... The upper part of the page has the new paper flowers which I just layered and layered through-out the book.
You can see how I used the new Washi tape to adhere the tickets and ledger card to the page.
I love all of the quotes.
I took a large brad and added it to the center of the chipboard frame. I love the shade of the orange ribbon...
There you go! I have to say this is my most favorite journal album to date! I hope you are inspired to create something wonderful!

Mini travel album with template instructions

This is a very compact and easy to carry around in your purse kind of journal that you can take with you and add your photo's once you get home. I LOVE THIS, I would USE it and shove it full of ephemera like napkins from a restaurant or receipts from souvenir shopping. I would add postcards to it as well!! I would carry it with me and jot down my journey and you can see how I would do that with this...

For the cover cut and score as shown. When finished your journal album will measure 3.5 by 6 inches. The spine is 1/4 inch wide but completely expandable!! And if you know me at all you know I love a FULLY packed album, lol!! Just a perfect size!

Punch your holes VERY VERY LAST, and if you have one of Teresa's Top 10 favorites, the CropADile you can punch thru all the pages and cover AT ONCE - so slick!!

You can see here how that bottom fold from the template created a pocket to store things until you can adhere them down while you are traveling.

This is a great place to later put your photos!

All of the interior pages are 6 by 3 1/4, the paper from the World Traveler line has rounded corners.

I created these tag pages using some old manila folders and cut them to size. For the circle pieces I cut strips of the Black Glitter paper from the paper line into 1/2 inch strips and rounded the corners, folded them over the tops and then punched the holes for the ribbons to be tied to. I LOVE the texture it adds to it!!

Using the stamp set, I stamped the Fleur de lis in the center of both sides of each tag then randomly used the other stamps as well. I loved that there are day stamps as well, perfect for even weekend getaways!!

Here's another great page for photo's to add to after your trip.

Another pocket page, used from the elements paper, perfect for tickets!

I love this World Traveler paper line and all of the goodies to go with it! I have to say, it's one of the lines I just want to HOARD!! It is timeless in my opinion, I love all of the patterns and could easily pick them up years from now and still be just as in love them!!
